Previous owner's name to front end paper and a little foxing to end papers. No other marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked mid-blue cloth boards, clear gilt lettering/embossing to front and spine, gilt top of page edges and no bumping to corners. Bevelled boards and blue slik page marker. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased with chipped/rubbed upper edge and well-sunned spine and some edges. 268pp. A series of letters to his child-friends from the author of Alice in Wonderland, full of his humour and quaint conceits and revealing the kindliness and understanding of a universal lover of children. Very scarce with jacket.
