Antique Book and Antique Printing Fair | September 1st-3rd - Città di Castello (PG)

This XXIII Exhibition of Antique, Fine, and Rare Books, and Antique Prints, including ancient masters, cartography, and modern graphic art, organized by the Association Palazzo Vitelli a Sant'Egidio with the support of the Municipal Administration, will take place, as usual, in one of the most prestigious Renaissance palaces in the city. In an environmentally high-level setting, 40 exhibitors from Italy and abroad, distributed across 35 stands, will offer original works, often rare, of high quality and guaranteed.

The edition will be characterized by an exceptional series of related activities related to bibliophily.

 

 

Exhibition

Exhibition of two works, pride of the typographic art of Tifernate, created by the publisher Paci "La Tifernate": I Promessi sposi and The Adventures of Pinocchio. Some of the original matrices of the rich iconographic apparatus present in the works themselves will be shown. Illustrated by Enrico Paci.

 

Book presentation

Making Numbers Speak. Account books, registers, diaries, and other forms of daily storytelling for a textual critique of the typographic-economic testimonies of Tifernate – Pliniana Editrice 2023.

Research curated by Professor Giovanna Zaganelli, full professor of Text Semiotics and director of the International Renaissance Studies Center at the University for Foreigners of Perugia. Introduction by Fabio Nisi, President of the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation of Città di Castello.

 

Margherita of Città di Castello - From blessed to saint 1609-2021

Presentation of the anastatic reprint "Historical Notes of Blessed Margherita of Città di Castello Domenicana, Foligno-Tomassini-1837" and the essay with contributions from Father Alberto Viganò O.P., Don Tonino Rossi, Don Andrea Czortek, Clara Egidi, Patrizia Gnerucci, Rita Adreani, Giancarlo Mezzetti. Sister Antonina Cordaro, O.P., of the Third Order of Dominicans, will intervene with a report on the Saint entitled: "The faith of a woman who did not surrender to the blindness of the world."
